Locum Interventional Radiology – Near Nashville, TN | 1 Week/Month | 100% IR Scope
Position Details:
- Location: Middle Tennessee
- Duration: October – March, with potential to extend
- Setting: Level II trauma center, 300 beds
- Schedule: 1 week per month; ideally 7-day blocks, though 5-day (weekday-only) blocks will be considered
- Shift: 8a–5p plus night call Monday–Friday; 24-hour call (8a–8a) Saturday–Sunday
- Call: Unrestricted from hotel
- Scope: 100% Interventional Radiology — no diagnostic reading required
- Support: Advanced practice providers plus 3 other IR physicians on staff
- EMR: Cerner
Procedural Scope:
- Angiography and venography (diagnostic and interventional — peripheral, visceral)
- Angioplasty (balloon, drug-coated, cutting)
- Stent placement (peripheral, venous, arterial, carotid, iliac, SFA)
- Thrombectomy/thrombolysis required (peripheral, PE, DVT, stroke, dialysis graft)
- Embolization procedures (UAE, GI bleed/TIPS, tumor embolization)
- IVC filter placement and retrieval
- Image-guided biopsies (liver, lung, kidney, bone)
- Drainage procedures (abscess, biliary, nephrostomy, paracentesis, thoracentesis)
- G-tube/GJ-tube placement
- Lumbar punctures and myelograms
- Vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty
- Pain injections (nerve blocks, epidurals, facet, SI joint)
- Central venous catheters (tunneled and non-tunneled)
- Port placement/removal
- Dialysis graft/fistula interventions
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology
- Active Tennessee license or IMLC Compact
- Completed residency in Radiology and fellowship in Interventional Radiology, or equivalent qualifying experience
- Must be able to produce case logs from the past 12 months
