New Job Details – Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Location: Central Virginia (Inquire for exact location)
Duration: As soon as credentialed – ongoing 6+ month locum contract
Reason for coverage: short staffed
Schedule: 24-hour shifts – flexible 5-10 shifts per month
Shift: 24-hour shifts, 7a-7a
Call: N/A
Patient volume: Approximately 100–120 deliveries per month
Scope: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner – The nursery primarily cares for infants delivered at 34 weeks gestation and above. The NNP will provide newborn care, including delivery attendance, stabilization, and coordination of transfer to a higher level of care when needed.
EMR: Meditech expanse
Hospital: Not-for-profit, 255 beds, Open ICU
Group/support: Physician and NNP in-house coverage. OB and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) coverage available 24/7.
Requirements (boards, license): Board Certified, Active VA License/DEA, 2+ years of NNP experience
