Job Description

NP/PA -Cardiothoracic Surgery locum tenens opportunity in Louisiana

Location: Louisiana (right on the Texas Border)
Duration: November – Ongoing
Reason for coverage: Lack of coverage
Schedule: Full time, Monday –Friday (will potentially consider 2-3 weeks per month)
Shifts start at 5:30 a.m. if there is a case, 6:30 if no case. Usually finish around 3:00 p.m. but may vary based on volume.
Call: Every other night/every other weekend.
Patient volume: 2 cases per day + hospitalized patients, consults (no more than 10 usually)
Scope: APP-CTS and APP-CVS, endoscopic vein harvesting, rounding, 1st assist in surgery, clinic, ECMO, VAD
EMR: EPIC in clinic, Meditech for hospital (Terumo vein harvesting equipment)
Hospital: Level 1 trauma
Group/support: Full hospital support staff
Requirements (boards, license): Board Certified. LA license.
